Two Great Places To Eat In San Jose California, Fogo De Chao and Veggie Grill

http://veggiegrill.com/http://www.fogodechao.com/

ON THA ROAD WITH AMERO!!
By. Amero
After reading the headline you should be overjoyed and salivating at the
opportunity to hang out with ‘the kid’. I'm like the jolliest person in the world
except for Santa. I'm going to take you for a spin today and San Jose is our
stomping ground for some good eats. If you have read any of my blogs
you know by now that I'm all over the place. My thoughts are sporadic and
my actions even more spontaneous. As always I'm more than prepared
to entertain you on this trip. I have planned two options for us to go eat at
since i really don't know what you like, but these restaurants are sure to
please.

The first place is called Fogo De Chao which is a Brazilian steakhouse
renowned for its gaucho style of preparing meat originating in Porto Alegre,
Brazil. I don't know where to start. Ok I lied. I do know where and that's the
gourmet salad bar which is absolutely amazing and a total setup. From
Smoked Salmon to Prosciutto and Italian Salami. Artichoke Hearts, Jumbo
Asparagus and many signature cheeses. Please don't be dumb like me on
my first time here and get blinded by the amazing variety of the salad bar
and load up a ridiculously large plate of fresh and tasty treats because you
haven't even tasted any of the 16 cuts of meat that will be bestowed upon
your table for you. The table side service in which you use tongs to grab
choice cuts of meat literally off the skewer adds to the ambiance of the
restaurant. Fogo has bacon wrapped Fillet Mignon, Beef Ancho or Rib-Eye
they also have Cordeiro or lamb and also chicken and pork. The signature
or my favorite of all was the Picanha which is a portrait worthy cut of Sirloin.
The marbling of the meat is exemplary and don't come with your ‘WELL
DONE’ wishes because we won't be sitting together long if so! The flavor is
packed in every bite i can't say enough about how they make your tummy
happy. They boast an award winning wine list so if we have room for more
we can indulge. Fogo is great because they offer imported cheeses cured
meats and a fresh and delicious dessert menu. OK, so you're not into the
whole stuff yourself till you die movement.I get it. You are more eccentric
and chose to be more conservative with your lifestyle and your wallet.

Lets do Veggie Grill. Veggie Grill is a
healthy alternative to eating out that combines fresh vibrant flavors with
organic and gluten friendly ingredients. Veggie Grill takes pride in being a
sustainable practice business that goes above and beyond normal industry
requirements. I had the Buffalo wings and I really enjoyed them. My entree
was the Bombay Bowl and it was the BOMBAY!!! Fresh is my attitude and
the food here is fresh. I love this place because you leave out feeling better
than you came in. The menu is large and there's something for everybody
including the kids (just don't tell them what it is).
Whether you wanna gorge and pillage or be thoughtful and conscious we
got two options. What's it going to be?

Alum Rock Park in San Jose Closed Due To High Fire Danger

Back in 1970s Alum Rock Park in San Jose California was the place to go for family fun. My family would have their reunions there. I used to love Alum Rock Park when I was a kid. I could not wait to go horseback riding and swimming. Alum Rock always had a lot people there during the summer time.

Alum Rock has been closed to cars and pedestrians due to the high fire danger. Officials say with the high temperatures and low humidity, it is a recipe for a wildfire. All over the state brush fires are happening, due to the hot and dry conditions. Last week in Brisbane, small brush fires were sparked last Monday. It is good that Alum Rock Park in San Jose is closed, because of the houses in the area. The people that live near Alum Rock Park are happy that it is closed. They don’t want what happened in the Oakland Hills in the 80s. If you never been to Alum Rock Park go up there when it’s open it is beautiful.

California State Senate Approves Self-Driving or Autonomous Cars

Yes! The future is here self-driving cars have arrived. I remember in 2011 my cousin Michael Ealey owner of Streetwise Special Delivery Courier Service in Gilroy California, was driving from Gilroy to San Jose to do a pickup and delivery. He called me on the phone and said he was driving next to a self-driving car made by Google. Senators from the state of California voted 37-0 in support of the bill that would allow self-driving cars on the streets and highways as long as a licensed driver is aboard. Senator Alex Padilla said "Human error is the cause of almost every accident on the road today. If autonomous technology can reduce the number of accidents, and then we also reduce the number of injuries and fatalities on California's roads," sponsor of the bill, State Sen. Alex Padilla (D-Pacoima), explained to the Los Angeles Times. "For me this is a matter of safety." These self-driving cars use radar, video cameras, lasers and a database of information collected from manually-driven cars to navigate and are meant to prevent accidents. I think this would be great, there should be no more accidents and no more traffic jams wouldn’t that be nice. All the handicapped people who have not been able to drive will finally get their chance. Would everyone go for the self-driving car? I don’t think so, because first of all the car will drive only the speed limit. We all know in this fast pace world people won’t like going the speed limit. What if there is some kind of electrical outage in the world? Like we see in the movies, what then? I would like to see how these cars drive, I probably would be nervous wanting to put my hands on the steering wheel. If the people of California passes Padilla's bill, SB 1298 and this bill is signed by Governor Jerry Brown it would go into effect in January 2013.

Santa Cruz 38th Annual Fungus Fair

It is that time a year again the 38th Annual Fungus Fair is January 13-15, 2012 in Santa Cruz California at the Louden Nelson Community Center. All you mushroom lovers like me, this is the place to be. There are hundreds of mushrooms on display you also get to learn about different mushrooms in their recreated habitat. There is a special room for the kids with hands on activities where they can also learn about the mushrooms. If you enjoy cooking with mushrooms like I do there culinary stations set up teaching you how to prepare the mushrooms to get the best flavor out of them. Mushrooms in the wild can also be very dangerous if you don’t know what to look for.  There will be renowned speakers on all three days informing people on edible and poisonous mushrooms. Mushrooms are very healthy for you there rich in iron, copper, calcium, potassium, vitamin D, and folic acid. My favorite mushrooms are Shitake, Beef Steak and Button mushrooms. If you love mushrooms like me the 38th Annual Fungus Fair in Santa Cruz California is definitely the place to be, so pack up the kids and make this a family day trip.

Sacramento State Fair July 14-31, 2011

It’s time for the State of California fair; this is the biggest fair in the state. Sacramento will be alive from July 14 - 31, 2011. When I was in high school I would go to Sacramento State fair with my best friend and her family. We would leave on Thursday get there and spend the whole weekend in Sacramento enjoying all that the fair had to offer. I really enjoyed the concerts and the rides. I have seen Tower of Power, Con Funk Shun and Ohio Players in concert. The county fair has something for everyone. There
is Poppy Pal Club for kids under 12.  Tuesdays are kid’s day, free admission and all rides are $1 you can’t beat that. Poppy the fairs mascot is having a birthday party on July 19, 2011 all kids are invited. There is a kid’s talent show on July 26, 2011.  For people who go to the fair for the exhibitions and attractions there is the Big Bug exhibit. This exhibit
has gigantic robotic insects. All you music lovers the new Rock U exhibit, you can learn about the history of Rock “N” Roll. For the fairgoers who love to come see the live animals there is Kangaroo Joey’s Big Adventure. You can see six month old Australia baby kangaroo Joey, Wisk the Hedgehog, Emily the Emu and Spike the Porcupine. The concerts at the Sacramento State fair are pretty good this year. You have War, Ohio Players and SOS
