To kick it off the 38th annual pumpkin weigh off is October 10; 2011the sponsor Safeway will be offering a $5,000 to any grower who breaks the world record 1,850.5 pounds. Wow! That’s a big pumpkin. The Coastside Land Trust invites everyone to dress up in costumes and march with them in the Half Moon Bay Pumpkin Festival parade on October 15, 2011. The 41st annual Art & Pumpkin Festival is fun for all ages if you like to dress in costume like I do you will have a ball. There is a haunted house, vendors selling their handmade crafts, or sit back and enjoy the live bands and the taste the pumpkin inspired food.
